    Workshop Flow

    1. Welcome to the workshop
Relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. All tools, materials, and pottery are provided.

    2. Introduction to Kintsugi
Sit with our Kintsugi craftsman as he shares the philosophy and core techniques of this centuries-old craft.

    3. Polishing the repaired pottery
Choose a piece from our collection of prepared pottery. Using the traditional horsetail plant, polish the hardened urushi mixed with clay powder along the joints. This smooths the seams and reveals the beauty of the surface beneath.

    4. Applying urushi lacquer
With a fine brush, carefully apply a thin layer of urushi lacquer over the seams. The piece then rests briefly in a humidity box until the lacquer becomes tacky.

    5. Dusting with gold

Using a soft brush, gently sprinkle gold powder onto the lacquered seams. Then, with a small silk ball, softly polish the gold to bring out its radiant shine.

    6. Your finished piece
At the end of the session, you will take home your own Kintsugi-repaired pottery — a unique creation that carries both beauty and story.
